Our aging and poorly-implemented septic system was in dire need of an overhaul. Randy and his team replaced electric lines, installed a modern lift station, and laid a new supply line to the leach field. They took care to leave landscaping intact (except where we asked them to do a little demolition), tacked up fence access sections at the end of every work day, and were considerate and professional in their treatment of us and our property. Just one example of how they went out of their way to ensure a successful outcome: it snowed the night before our inspection, and Randy came in early that morning to clear the installed equipment to ensure no inspection complications. Randy is knowledgeable, helpful, personable, reliable, and trustworthy. I will call Spotted Dog for future excavation needs, and I highly recommend them.

Randy helped me after I had an electric line fail in my direct burial lines that go from the utilities transformer to my main electrical panel. I needed a 160-foot-long trench opened on fairly steep hillside that has many large rocks, grown scrub oak stands, and other obstructions. After calling other contractors whose bids were unreasonably high, I called Randy, and he promptly inspected the site. I found him to be knowledgeable and affordable. He said he could work my project into his schedule fairly quickly, and he started the job 2 days later. He had a confident manner and attention to detail that was reassuring.He was also very careful to do as little damage as possible to our property and trees. He even went so far as to move many of the larger unearthed rocks to places of our choosing for landscaping purposes. He and Brian were always courteous and friendly. They completed the job in a timely fashion and left everything in great shape. I also found Randy to be one of the most caring people I've ever met. He not only did the job well, but he also went beyond what was required. I highly recommend Spotted Dog Excavating.

Randy rescued me when I was desperate to get a gas line trench dug on short notice. When I tried to do it myself, I ran into a tree root as big as my waste and could not get past. Randy dug under the root and saved my tree. He did a great job on short notice at a very reasonable price. Randy and Brian were very friendly and professional. They went out of their way to put the dirt where I could work around it to bring in sand. They also built a temporary bridge across the trench so my wife could access her art studio. I can't say enough about them and highly recommend Spotted Dog Excavating.

I reached out to Spotted Dog to get a second opinion on a sewer line replacement I had done. There were some complicating factors which meant that there wasn't really a straight-forward solution to fix the problems. Randy and Angela went above and beyond to help me understand the situation and possible solutions, but were also honest in telling me the downsides to different solutions.I ultimately did not get to work with them on a job, as I was able to sort out the problems with the original vendor. But nonetheless Randy and Angela were very helpful throughout, even though we didn't get to do business together. I really appreciated their help, and would recommend them to others.

I was having some flooding issues when I contacted Spotted Dog Excavating. Randy and Angela were very friendly and professional. They presented a French drain recommendation and spent two weekends on its installation. My drains work wonderfully, and I have no more flooding problems. Randy and his crew were fantastic, going over and beyond what I was expecting both in his workmanship, price and speed of execution. My wife and I just bought a house and the septic system pipe backed up and was failing. Randy was going to come out and give us a quote and ended up coming back literally hours later and got the job done of digging up the old failed pipe, installing a new one and all in less than an afternoon and then had his crew rake up the excavator tracks as if he hadn't been there. If time is on your side get multiple quotes and be sure to call Spotted Dog. Having a sewer line dug up and replaced isn't something I like to spend money on, but it is highly likely older homes in El Paso county are going to need it at some point. After several years of dealing with my clog with a rental snake I was referred to Randy by a friend. I've been through this before at another property and the cost was reasonable and the service was outstanding.

We had Randy replace our plugged up sewer line. He did a steller job! Very professional ! First he ran a camera down our line to verify the damaged pipe and pin pointed our problem, then dug up the problemed spot and repaired it and installed cleanouts to access any future blockages if we ever need. If you have ever owned a 60 year old house, you know the issues with old water lines. Well, our water line was original to the home and was galvanized pipe, which over time starts to rust and corrode. After discovering a leak, we called Randy at Spotted Dog Excavating to come take a look. Randy was at our house that same day and gave us a very clear explanation of our options and costs.
